The Paint Correction Detail is what Joe Huntley considers the classic detail and what most people think of when they hear 'car detailing'.

The Paint Correction Detail begins with the same multi stage wash processes completed in the Ultimate Car Wash and The Enhancement options but follows with a more intensive paint correction process thereafter.

 

The multi stage wash process starts by ensuring every exterior detail is cleansed. This is performed from the wheels and wheel arches, through the door shuts and finished with the bodywork. Meticulously cleansing using the two bucket method as standard and then chemically and mechanically decontaminating.

 

Once the exterior is perfectly clean a multi stage test procedure starts. This is to gain the best possible understanding of the paint before a machine polisher touches the car. Multiple lights are used along with paint depth gauges to measure the thickness of the painted surfaces. With this information, a test section is marked out to test different compounds, polishes and pads to identify the most effective way of achieving the best results specific to your vehicle.  

The results to look for in The Correction detail is defect removal of 70-95%. This of course will be dictated by the paint type and paint history (thickness of paint and how safe it is to heavily polish the surface). A number of different sized polishing machines will be used to fit safely around body contours and different panels. 

 

With the paintwork corrected it will then be protected with either a long lasting synthetic paint sealant or one of the world's most expensive T1 carnauba waxes. If it's a classic car, it's recommended to use a natural carnauba wax for the warmest gloss possible. For modern vehicles many opt to top the paint correction detail with a ceramic coating. This treatment includes the following:

​

• The vehicle jacked up on each corner to gain full access to the wheel arches

• All wheel arches, wheels and tyres deep cleaned and tar deposits removed

• Door shuts and fuel filler cap all cleaned with any dirt and grease removed

• A multi stage pre-wash (vehicle rinsed, lowers cleansed, snow foam applied, cracks and crevices agitated, and the vehicle fully rinsed)

• All surfaces cleansed with the two bucket method and ultra safe wash media

• Ferrous metal contamination removed with iron fallout remover

• Road Tar deposits and tree sap removed with a tar and glue remover

• Mechanical decontamination completed with a clay bar to remove any leftover contamination leaving the paint feeling silky smooth

• All painted surfaces inspected to determine the history of the vehicle

• A multi stage paint correction process using multiple machines, compounds, polishes and pads to achieve a correction rate of 70-95%, paint dependent

• A single layer of high-grade T1 Carnauba wax or a synthetic polymer paint sealant applied to the whole vehicle, offering 3 to 8 months protection. The wax option will last between 3-4 months offering a warm glow whilst the sealant will deliver a more clinical looking 6-8 months of protection

• Wheel arches and tyres both dressed in non-silicone dressing, leaving a factory fresh appearance

• All interior surfaces are vacuumed and wiped down with any isolated stains and dirt spots addressed

• Steering wheel and gear knob will be deep cleaned, removing any traces of contamination, hand grease and body oils

• All glass surfaces cleaned to a lint-free finish
